Bowtech

The Original Bowen Technique

Bowen Therapy is a non-invasive State of the Art Technique and has profound effects on various chronic disorders including degenerated spine, arthritis, rheumatism, stress, chronic fatigue, acidity, fractures, sprains, sports injuries, musculoskeletal disorders, asthma, nervous disorders, mental and emotional equilibrium, women’s problems including fertility and many other ailments. Sometimes called the homeopathy of bodywork, it utilizes subtle inputs to the body (known as moves), stimulating the body to heal itself. Specific moves are made on ligaments, tendons or muscles which most likely activate the Golgi receptors and send signals to the brain, the neurological pathways, the fascia, also activating the meridians, and the electromagnetic field of the person. Unlike other treatments, the body does its own rectification and the will of the practitioner is not imposed on the client. It has been suggested that the Bowen Technique may introduce specific harmonic frequencies to the body systems on the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual levels. It complements conventional medicine.

The Bowen technique offers tremendous benefit to clients with very little effort on the part of the practitioner. Bowen Technique addresses the entire body, by restoring balance via the autonomic nervous system (ANS). The ANS controls over 80% of bodily functions and is very susceptible to external stressors.

Most people today live in a constant state of high stress and sympathetic ANS over-stimulation (fight, flight or freeze mode). Healing can occur only after the ANS shifts from sympathetic to parasympathetic dominance (rest, relax and repair mode). Bowen technique enables the shift.

  • What is Bowen Therapy?

Bowen is a holistic remedial body technique that works on the soft connective tissue (fascia) of the body. It utilizes subtle inputs to the body (known as moves), stimulating the body to heal itself, often profoundly.

  • How does Bowen Therapy work?

A typical Bowen session lasts from 15 to 45 to over an hour depending on reactions taking place in the body. Clients usually lie on a massage/bodywork table or bed, or may be seated in a chair if required, for comfort.

  • Learn Bowen

Bowtech training has been granted national accreditation for the Certificate IV in Bowen Therapy and Diploma of Specialised Bowen Therapy. Completion of either of these courses enables you to work as a Bowen Therapist in Australia.
